Nice: A 14 year old lab rescued on 2/24/09 crossed over the rainbow bridge on 03/30/09. He was left in the basement of a Brooklyn building to die alone by his previous owner of 14 yrs.
Nice was rescued on the day was to be euthanized. We found him a new home in NJ with a loving family who took this senior in with open arms. Unfortunately, the Stage 4 Lung Cancer had other plans for Nice, but he was loved till the end by his new family.
He passed away the same way he came to them… in the loving arms of his mom, with his head on her shoulder.
Our prayers and sympathy to them for the loss of a beloved friend, pet and gentle soul.
Andy was given a voice by one of our contacts Marian who saw his picture on the ACC website. Andy called out to her for help. He was a broken dog physically. His tongue was infected with cancer and Andy could no longer eat. But his eyes held love and intelligence.
Together we networked to find a foster home for him and suceeded.
Unfortunately after a visit to the vet, a team meeting was held by the wonderful caring pe0ple that work there. They felt his tongue was too severly wounded/infected to save (he would be left without a tongue).
Everyone present was in agreement that Andy had suffered enough.
Andy passed in the loving arms of his angel Marian knowing he was loved and is now at peace.
